AI and human oversight
AI and human oversight
Last updated October 16, 2026
Riley Legal uses AI where it makes a firm's operations faster and more consistent. People set the rules, review the work and stay accountable for it.
On this website
This site does not use an AI chat. The "Where would Riley start?" tool runs entirely in your browser from fixed choices written by Riley Legal.
In client engagements
For clients, Riley implements and manages AI-enabled systems for defined operational work, such as 24/7 client intake, follow-up, scheduling, document handling, communication and reporting. Every system is built around rules the firm approves:
- Urgent and sensitive matters go to people.
- Exceptions are reviewed, not buried.
- Quality is checked on an ongoing basis.
- The firm decides what is automated and can change it.
What our AI never does
- It does not practice law, give legal advice, or replace attorneys or legal judgment.
- It does not act outside the workflows and rules a firm has approved.
- It does not run sensitive workflows without human oversight.
